In a previous post, we talked about the process of building and promoting a community and what we learned from 7 B2B Facebook Groups. In this article, we dive a bit deeper into great marketing communities that exist within Facebook groups.
Facebook Groups are an excellent resource for marketing talent, whether you’re freelancing, running an agency, or working corporate. Joining the right groups will help you:
- Stay up to date about new marketing trends
- Learn new strategies, processes from industry leaders
- Build a network or even a remote team of experts
I’m a firm believer in the importance of T-shaped skill development in marketing, so I’ve chosen groups that don’t overlap too much in terms of content and insight. You’ll learn about SEO, CRO, automation, and more in these Facebook groups.
1. SEO Signals Lab
Members: 66,700 (mostly marketing freelancers)
Owner: Steven Kang
Topics: Data-driven SEO
SEO can be a menacing beast when you’re starting out and SEO communities online can be notoriously harsh on beginners. SEO Signal Labs is nothing like that, so feel comfortable knowing you can ask any question and be met with knowledgeable insight.
2. Fat Graph Content Ops
Members: 2,700 (mostly content agencies)
Owner: Nick Jordan
Topics: Content production
Similar to SEO Signals Lab, SEO & Content Marketing hosts AMA sessions showcasing successful SEO campaigns and the mindset behind them. However, there’s a distinct theme to this group that makes it stand out. Nick Jordan, the group admin, advocates for domineering search traffic by focusing on content velocity and only relying on natural backlinks. This theme makes the topics of the group centered around blog content production, scaling copywriting teams and using AI for keyword research.
This group hosts AMA sessions from a variety of roles in the SEO world. Kevin indig recently joined a great session that inspired StoryChief to request an interview with him: 11 SEO Insights from Kevin Indig, Shopify’s Director of SEO
3. Supercharge Your Web Agency
Join Supercharge Your Web Agency
Members: 6,152
Owner: Chris Castillo
Topics: Running and scaling an agency
There’s more to marketing than marketing itself, which is why I’ve included my favorite Facebook group for running and scaling your agency. This is the place to go for resources on growing your agency. SCYWA is a global community of web designers, copywriters, SEOs, marketers and agency owners. Come here when you’re feeling stuck and need to supercharge your business!
4. CXL - Conversion Optimization, Analytics & Growth
Join CXL - Conversion Optimization, Analytics & Growth
Members: 14,642 (mostly web designers)
Owner: Peep Laja
Topics: Conversion optimization
Every high performing marketer has put their nose to conversion optimization at some point to bring home big results. Although last on the list, it’s certainly one of the most practical. If you haven’t put an effort into optimizing your website for conversions, this would be an excellent place to start.
5. Growth Through Content
Members: 970
Owner: StoryChief
Topics: Content marketing
Many Facebook groups are founded from a company or organization and grow into such a strong community that they take on a life of their own with interesting contributions from eventually mostly members outside the organization. StoryChief recently set up its own Facebook group and that is ultimately the reason for its creation. On the one hand to share our product updates, own knowledge and that of our guest writers, but also to bring all our members, SEO experts, copywriters, marketers, content managers and creators together and let them share their knowledge around content marketing!
